Problem with "if"

Hi,
I came across this sentence:

If you will go to the pub every day,no wonder people take you for a drunk!

My teacher taught us that we never used "will" after "if",so I am pretty confused about this sentence...I mean,I know what this sentence is saying,I just do not know why there is "will" used after "if"...

I agree with Clive that the use of will is unusual here, and that it conveys a sense of insisting on going, or of being determined to go to the pub every day.
