Problem with few sentences

Could someone help me with finding mistakes in those sentences? I have few ideas, but I'm not completely sure. A little explanation would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
1. I want to know English as good as it's possible.
2. My cat is bigger now than when I was in middle school.
3. I would like to improve my English, so that I would know it very well.
4. My English has improved and I know more than I knew in primary school.
5. Half of the things teacher has taught us, I already knew.
6. I have learnt a lot and also learnt about some new tenses.
7. Last year, I think that I learnt a lot.

  • Sentence 6 doesn't make good sense because you're using "and" to connect something very general "a lot" with something rather specific.
  • You need a comma in sentence 4.

The first sentence should have "well" rather than "good" because you need the adverb to modify the verb "know."

In the US, we would use "learned" rather than "learnt," though "learnt" is understood and considered an alternate of "learned." We don't use "learnt" much.

Sentence 6 doesn't

So except the ones you corrected the rest is OK? I have a lot of trouble with the 2nd one. Is this sentence correct: My english is better now than it was when I was in primary school. Can i skip "it was" altogether?

It's not an alternate (alternative), it's the spelling used in the UK.
