Problem of / for / in

Hi

I am not good at "preposition", so I hope you could look at my understanding below

Sentence:
I would helped the students with their problem_________the exercise class

Is my understanding below correct?
Are my examples sensible?

Understanding1:
Problem for the exercise class:

Example: All classrooms are occupied, so we don't have a class today.
Problem for the exercise class = no classroom

Understanding2:
Problem of the exercise class:

Example:The length of the class is just 1 hour, so it is not good enough
Problem of the exercise class = The length of the class is just 1 hour

Understanding3:
Problem in the exercise class:

Example: In the class today, I didn't understand the question 1 on the exercise sheet.
Problem in the exercise class = the question 1

Thanks

#1 is OK. #2 is not; native speakers do not use 'of' so freely; 'with' would be a good choice. I do not understand the meaning of #3, so I cannot comment on the preposition.

Hi,

For sentence3:

Background:
When I prasticed the question on the exercise sheet today in the exercise class, I did not understand the question one on the exercise sheet.

Thus, I would like to say:
The problem in the exercise class is the question one on the exercised sheet.

Thanks.
