I am preparing for PTE exam. This is one of the questions I encountered in one of the practice websites. There are four possible choices for each of the blanks, I wanted to ask you as experts whether there are logical reasons for answers or not.
1st blank : assumptions, hypotheses
2nd blank: results, numbers
3rd: data. digits
4th: picture, idea
I have highlighted the correct answers and I wanted to know why the other option which I have written based on the other options the website have given are wrong in these sentences. I do understand that they are better options, but are they wrong?
Hi Scientists work with hypotheses, results and data. That's what they do and those are the words they use. I don't think any of the eight words are seriously wrong.
