Problem in sentence

Hello,

Is the following sentence is correct:

She's had to do lot of work.

I think it should be as:

She's has to do lot of work.

What you think?

Top answer

She's has had to do lot of work does not make sense for two reasons. 1) She's is a short form of she has, therefor you would not need to say she has has had to do lot of work. 2) allot of work would make sense, had to do lot of work ?

She's had to do a lot of work. = She has had to do a lot of work.

"She has has to do a lot of work" doesn't make sense.

It's Present Perfect tense here, which means you need the construction "to have + past participle".

More examples:

I have done a lot

The first sentence is correct. Almost. It should be "She's had to do a lot of work."

The second sentence is incorrect because "She's" is a contraction of "She has." So the second sentence would actually be "She has has to do a lot of work."
