problem in searching definitions for English phrases

I have problem in searching definitions for English phrases, for example "get on your knees". I understand this phrase but I can't search for the exact definition over the internet. Is there any good online resource in this issue? Thanks.

Sometimes if you Google the phrase you can find enough uses of the phrase to figure out for yourself what it means. Then, on the basis of your research, you can invent your own definition. Try it.

Thanks CalifJim,

The "English phrase problem" is what I consider as one of the the major barrier for English learners to understand native speakers. Your suggestion is what exactly I'm doing, by searching the phrases and trying to interpret their meanings. But that's not enough for me. I want to know the CONTEXT behind the words and their proper usage.

Another person suggestion I google "English Idioms"

Problem is something like "get on your knees" are not actually idioms or phrasal verbs and that's exactly my problem.
