Problem: 'Any'
Can the usage of 'any' used to describe noun with plural or single or both? For example: ...any books or ...any book; ...any watches or ...any watch; and so on. Or you can at least give me some of examples to explain how to use 'any' to make a proper sentence. Curious, is this only noun can be used with it? Thanks.

Any is an adjective meaning "of whatever number or quantity." You could just as well say "is there a book" or "are there books." But we usually say "is there any book" and "are there any books." Singular vs. plural is a non-issue as far as "any" is concerned.
