Prized possession

Hi

I've come across the following quite often--and I really don't know what they mean and when they are used. Yes, I've tried a few dictionaries, but I'm none the wiser! Emotion: smile

Prized possession

The heightened sense of things

Are these set expressions? Do native speakers use them often?

Thanks,

Tom

Your prized possession is what you own that you value above all else. For a child, it may be a stuffed elephant that she sleeps with. For a collector, it could be a Monet painting.
