0A private school is one that charges fees for the children to attend. Some of these are boarding schools, some are not boarding schools, some offer both options. The boarding (or not) isn't relevant to its being private.02br

Wiki define private schools as "also known as independent schools, are not administered by local, state or national governments; thus, they retain the right to select their students and are funded in whole or in part by charging their students tuition"

while a boarding school is a "school where some or all pupils study and live during the school year with their fellow students and possibly teachers or administrators."

I believe that not all private schools offer boarding schools, but all boarding schools are private. There are girls boarding school which are exclusive only for female students, boys boarding school for boys, and coed boarding school for both girls and boys living together in their school with separate dormitories.
