Prison is the best punishment for criminals. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Nowadays, the crime rates have been increasing over the years and there is general belief that prison is the most effective method of punishing offenders. I strongly agree with this statement due to several reasons.

The primary reason why I believe law-breakers should be sentenced to jail is that it isolates criminals from other daily lives and assists keeping public safe. It is clear that felons pose a serious threat to society, innocent people and citizens. It offers people a sense. Moreover, it offers people a sense of safety and security.

From the justice perspective, I think that it is absolutely appropriate for wrong-doers, especially who commit serious crimes such as sex offences and serial killers. To be specific, felons who engage in unlawful acts actually should receive prison sentences, even life imprisonment since it is equitable for the victims and offenders also have to pay that price for their wrongdoing.

In conclusion, I firmly argue that criminals should be put behind bars in order to have responsibility for their crimes. It is highly recommended that government would impose more severe punishment on people who have actions against the law to protect citizens from being victims.
