Print VS. Print out

Can I print the paper? VS. Can I print the paper out?

I think there is not much different in meaning between print and print out in the examples. What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much in advance.

Well if you are speaking of a home printer, I think 'print out' is much more common; however, if you are speaking of a newspaper publisher, then 'print out' is not possible.
