Vocabulary

"Print"

Dear All,

Could you, please, tell me if the word ’’print’’ can refer to a copy of a film as well (like a filmreel, for instance), or it means only things on paper?

Thank you! Emotion: smile

Yes, PRINT can refer to anything that has been created through PRINTING, or a similar process. The important feature of the PRINTING process is that a single STAMP, or another device containing an image of some kind, can produce MANY identical copies. Clothes can be printed ("leopard print skirt"), and a photograph is often called a PRINT (it's printed on special paper), and a copy of a famous painting is also called a PRINT.
