Primer

Hello,

I came across "primer" and wanted to see its meaning and pronunciation. Therefore, I looked it up in Cambridge Dictionary.
However, there is an inconsistency between the transcription and pronunciation:

Can you tell me whether it should be /'pra?.m?/ or /'pr?.m?/?

My second question is about a recording. What is the word which informs that a recording (or a tape) has been cut and rearranged in order to manipulate someone? Is it "assembly"?

Thank you

The audio is wrong. /. "edit" or "edited" may be the word you are looking for.

  • The audio is wrong.
  • /.
  • "edit" or "edited" may be the word you are looking for.
  • For example, "The recording has been edited to make him seem stupid".
  • Or, for more extreme manipulation, "cut up and rearranged" may be better.
