Primal Spirit-Religion

Hi

Primal Spirit-Religion is a title of a chapter in a book.

Do you think it means "The Spirit of Primal Religion" or something else?

Thanks

Hi, I think it's an imprecise phrase, and that you need to read the chapter to find the intended meaning. Clive

Hi,

I think it's an imprecise phrase, and that you need to read the chapter to find the intended meaning. Emotion: smile

Hi

But if you had to guess what would you say it means?

Thanks

Hi,

Dunno.

Mayve a reference to some kind of religion that endows everyday objects with 'spirit', eg trees and clouds.

No!

Spirit-Religion suggests a religious tradition in which spirits (disembodied entities like ghosts) play an important role.

To speak of the spirit of something is entirely different. It's more like the predominant mood of a thing, or its true sense or intention.

Hi

So in your view "Primal Religion of the Spirit" would be a better wording than the 1st one I suggested? Or maybe "Primal Religion and its Spirit"?

cheers

No, and no. I'm sorry to say that I don't see another way to express it except Primal Spirit-Religion, and I don't understand why you want to express it differently.

It means, if you want a more

Yes, it's clearer. Thanks.
