Hi Avangi,

Thank you again for answering my question.

To win the battle (not a real battle like war, but in the kind of ideas, opinions, methods etc)?

Yes. It's figurative, to a certain extent.

We often use the expression "a battle of wits." A simple chess match is a "battle."

When we say "a battle of ideas" we can almost imagine the ideas fighting amongst themselves.

But of course in reality, it's people "struggling" to assert that their ideas are the correct ones.

Hi Avangi,

Thank you for explaining in steps, and the underline parts really see the sentence structures. Appreciate it.
