Pretend (to be) some doubts

Hello.

Are there any differences between pretend and pretend to be or differences in usage / rules of usage?

Here are some examples what I mean:

1) I pretend to be a happy guy.

I pretend a happy guy.

2) She pretends to be a celebrity.

She pretends a celebrity.

3) You are pretending to be rich.

You are pretending rich.
