Pressure vs. pressures

Hi,

In the sentence below, should I use "pressure" or "pressures"? "Pressure" sounds better to me, but I can't help thinking of "the pressures of life."

If he had imagined back in high school all the pressure that university life involved, he might have been too intimidated to proceed.

Thanks for your help.

I believe that when you say "pressures", you are refering to multiple types of pressures, whereas "presure" indicates just one type.
