Can you be more specific about what caused her to leave the city?

Barbara, doesn't it happen sometimes that we do something without thinking coherently...we are just pressed/influenced/controlled by a mixture of emotions.

For example, she missed her friends, she disliked her new colleagues, she found her house a bit uncomfortable.....but none of these is an authentic reason to leave the city again. Just emotions!

Since you'd asked for a more natural combination, I wanted to get a more specific sense of what you wanted to describe.

Influenced by her emotions, perhaps? Guided by her emotions? - Oh, you said "influenced" above, which is a good one I think. I like "controlled" as well, since it suggests her decision was not necessarily a rational one
