press conference/major

(1)What's the difference between "press conference" and "news release conference"?

(2)What's the difference between "major" and "main"?

(3)What's the difference between "deliberately" and "conciously"?

Top answer

1-- Press conferences do not necessarily release news; they often occur at regular interviews in order to field questions from the press. A news release conference would be specially called for that purpose. 2-- Nothing really ( major perhaps more strongly suggests a larger percentage).

Thank you for your clear explanation!

As to the second question (major/main)

"The major countries in this global meeting are:............." or "The main countries in this global meeting are.........."

Here in the examples, not all countries' names are said. May I say "main" or "major"?

Thank you in advance!
