Presenting and presentation

Are presenting and presentation interchangeable in the following sentence?

When manufacturers apply for the certification, the presenting/presentation of user testing data is required.

I'd also like to know if "presenting" is being used in the correct context here: We will be at the exhibition presenting our software, which is currently used by over 100 police forces in the UK.

Many thanks!

When manufacturers apply for the certification, the presenting/presentation of user testing data is required. Yes, but when you have both an -ing form and a -tion form, nine times out of ten, the -tion form is used. • Yes, that's correct.
  • If you're interested, in your first sentence above, 'presenting' was a gerund and therefore used as a noun is used.
