Presented or Presented with?

Hello, My first language is french and I'm currently writing a research paper. I'm wondering which of two sentence structures is better: 1. The animals presented bone anomalies" or 2. "The animals presented with bone anomalies". Both feel ok to me but is one more common or accurate?

Thanks!
