Present tense to talk about future

I found the following sentence in a movie. They use present tense to talk about future. Though I know it is feasible to talk about planned future actions by using present continuous tense, I'm not sure about the following sentence. Therefore, I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know whether the following sentence is grammatical. If it is correct, please tell me what are the situations in which we could use present tense to talk about future.
