Present tense and simple present

Is there any difference between Present tense, and simple present?

Yes and no. Present simple [tense] and simple present [tense] are identical.
Sometimes we're in a hurry and just say "present."
Depending on the context, it may be clear that we're talking about "simple present tense."

But there's also "present progressive/continuous [tense]" which is considered present tense, but is different from present simple.
