Present tense after time conjunctions.

Me: Netherlands will become a Christian country one day.


Friend (says sarcastically): When Jesus will return.


Shouldn't he have said "When Jesus returns"


Because if I said it as a whole sentence I would've said


"When Jesus returns, Netherlands will become a Christian country"
