I'm just curious how to change this to present tense, can someone help me please?
Kai had a flourishing career and was getting married with his fiancée Lin. But a business crisis made him take the fall for his company. Now out of job and owing a hefty sum in compensation, Kai went out and got drunk. After a wasted Kai was picked up by an unregistered taxi driver, a series of nightmares began that not only implicated him in a homicide but also endangered Lin’s life.

I assume you want to make a summary of something like a film or book. That;s the only reason I can think of for changing it into the present tense.
You try first, and we'll comment on what you write. Begin "Kim has ...".

Kai, a successful executive, gets married before he makes to take the fall for his company. Soon, his life changes dramatically when he gets tangled up with a taxi driver where a series of nightmares begins.
