Present Simple without an object?

If the structure of Present simple is normally:

Subject + Verb (present) + Object

What would this be:

"I read everyday"

Is it still present simple without the object 'books'?

Thanks

It is still the present tense, of course ( every day is what we call the complement).

This is not the case.

The verb is present simple. Tense is not dependent on whether or not a verb has an object. 'Read' does not have to

Actually, no. It doesn't complete the meaning of the verb. It is not a necessary part of the sentence. I believe the correct term is "adjunct".
