What's the difference in general. What's the difference between "I play" and "I have been playing" ?

I play my favorite music in the morning.  (You do this every morning. It is a habit.)
Johnny plays nicely with his classmates. (Report of teacher to Johnny's mother concerning Johnny's behavior. It refers to no specific time.)
