Present Simple To Indicate Future

I know that it's normal to use present continuous to indicate future:

I'm seeing the doctor again tomorrow.

so therefore i'd like to know whether it's right or not to use for this purpose present simple if there're words that refer to future like tomorrow,next year,etc.
