Present simple and/or continuous

Hello,

Which of the sentences below is grammatical? I believe both of them are OK. Sentence A talks about a general fact, whereas Sentence B depicts a single situation when a child is choking as an instance of a more general tendency. Thank you for your answers!

A) When a child chokes, you need to check for breathing, coughing or crying.
B) When a child is choking, you need to check for breathing, coughing or crying.
