Present SImple...

Hey, people! I have a quick and and easy question. Let me tell you an example:

Three friends are coming home. They get to the door, but don't have the key. So, one of them asks:

'What do we do?' or 'How do we get in?'

Why is the Present Simple used in this kind of questions, will you explain, please?

Cheers!

Hi there, well we use the present simple because the situation is happening in the moment of speaking.;you're seeking a solution and asking if there are any suggestions to how to open the door. You can say also "what shall we do".
