Present perfect with future simple

Hello people,

Can we use present perfect with future simple tense? For example,

I have never thought that I will be in such a difficult position.

Will the above sentence possess the same meaning if I use "would" instead of "will", that is

I have never thought that I would be in such a difficult position.

Much appreciated your help.
