Present Perfect vs Simple Past (II)

Hi,

Just wondering which one of these is correct:

1. I am sending to you a second request because they have not received the first official transcript you sent.

2. I am sending to you a second request because they did not receive the first official transcript you sent.

I guess (1) is correct because the time is not mentioned?

Thanks!!

Hi, I'd rather say "sending you" instead of "sending to you". Regarding tense, I agree with you, the first sentense is more appropriate since there we're concerned that they stll haven't received the transcription.

[You recognize the fact that the transcript might still arrive. You (or they) are still waiting for it.]
