Present perfect vs. Past simple

Good evening. Please consider the following text with reference to the difference between Present perfect and Past simple. Do you think it's a good example of correct use of the verb tenses? Thank you.

I have visited the Grand Canyon. Have you been there?

I visited it in 2009. The Grand Canyon is in North America, in Arizona.

I have been there with my family and two friends of mine.

We have slept outdoors and we have taken many great photographs.

We travelled by car: an old four-wheel drive Toyota.

I enjoyed the experience very much and I think I'm going to visit the place again in the future.
