Present perfect vs past perfect

Hello,

I am having some trouble with the correct formulation of a sentence;
here it is:

the hypothesis still has not been challenged, that the ending part of Alexander’s life has been lost.

I got rather confused wether I should use the present perfect in both cases or use the past perfect in "alexander's life had been lost"...

thanks a lot

Top answer

thanks a lot The last part of the sentence does not make sense to me. What hypothesis is not challenged - that Alexander was poisoned?
