Present Perfect vs Past Perfect?

Hi, here's my doubt,

Imagine you go to a museum with your son, and he is suddenly amazed by something he's just seen. Just then you say to your son:

"You had never seen anything like that before, had you?"

My question is, could you utter the same sentence in the same context but using present perfect instead of past perfect?

"You have never seen anything like that before, have you?"

Thanks

Hi,

Yes. And the Present Perfect is a much more natural choice.

The Past Perfect sounds like you are speaking with excessive precision.
