(present perfect T)Is my colleague make a mistake?
Is my colleague make a mistake? (<=make or makes?)
Hi, everyone. I have just received an email from my colleague and I am quite confused to one of her sentence. please help!
extract from the email:
Dear Ada,
I am sorry for the late submission because I have had something to do last week.............Question: "I have had something to do last week." Here, she used a present perfect tense with a definite time. As I remember, present perfect tense should not join with a time. If I were her, I would change this sentence to :
I was busy last week.(preferred, because a definite time is mentioned) or I have had something to do.(grammatically correct)
Am I right? or, her sentence is also correct in this circumstance?
Thanks

Thanks to your reply. Also, may I ask, is my title correct? Is my colleague make......or should be,Is my colleague made ?which tense should I use if I start with "Is"
Don't start with 'is'. 'Has my colleague made a mistake?' And in future, please put all text for discussion inside the message box. The title (subject line) should merely indicate the topic (as 'present perfect with past time reference').
