Present Perfect Tense

Hi

I have some questions regarding present perfect tense.

1) Am I right to say that for present perfect tense, we usually used has/have + past participle?

2) Mary has been ill for a week OR Mary is ill for a week? Which sentence is correct & why?

Thank you!
