Present perfect simple

what is :

"He's got it"??

I know it means that; he understood it, right?

but why is it written like this?
"he is got it"?

i thought it should be present perfect, like this:

"he has got it"
but then got should be gotten
right?

American's sometimes use that according to my grammar book but it doesn't appear in my dictionary.
