Present perfect / past simple

Hi,

I need a help with the present perfect / past simple. Which one of the following is correct:

1. Where is my bike? It WAS outside the house, but it's not there now.

2. Where is my bike? It HAS BEEN outside the house, but it's not there now.

Thank you.

Use (1).

(2) is not impossible grammatically, but in practice it is not something that anyone is very likely to say.
