Tense is always confusing. In the following sentence, which one is bettter? And why? Please explain to me the differnce!

Having adult responsibilites gives( or has given ?)me the chance to understand what the world is like( or will be like?) outside my home. It provides( or has provided?) me with hands-on training and is beneficial for me.
