Present perfect or P.P continuous

hello friends~

ive got a question.

'I like your house. How ling have you lived / have you been living there?'

in this sentence, which one is correct?

I think both is correct and P.P continuous is more common than P.P.

but my friend insists that the answer is that 'have you been living'.

i'm not sure. plz help me.
