Present perfect or past perfect

I'm playing a basketball game with friends, we finish and 20 minutes later I say:
"Wow, that was fun. Haven't/hadn't had that much fun in a long time" Which one?

That's a tough question.

I think it's a very subjective matter. I think it's perhaps when I am no longer enjoying the feeling of fun that the basketball game generated in me.

You might also like to consider this. The Past Perfect is what I'd call 'an educated tense'. Some people never use it and don't even know what it is.
