Present perfect or past perfect

hello dear friends
I am confused sometimes in using present perfect or past perfect,,here some examples:

I have never thought it before
I had never thought it before.

can you tell me in which situations we use these phrases.....
I think both can be said for the situations happeninng at present time.
i cant give more examples now but i know there is something here......(problem)

Just a small request before we begin. Please use proper capitalization. It makes reading and answering questions a lot easier. Strangely enough, our brains recognize shapes as well as individual letters. So we can process properly written text easier and faster. Also, cant become can't and so on.

but I have already had knowledge about these subjects but after I inveastigated other friends ,,it was beacuse of translation situations in Turkish literature....
