Present perfect continuous Vs. Present Progressive

Teachers, could anyone explain to me what is the difference between these two tenses:

a. I'm travelling a lot these days.

Jake's seeing a lot of Felicity these days.

b. I've been reading a lot of thrillers recently.

I've been waking up in the night a lot. I think I'll see the doctor.

These two tenses are for repeatedness, so they mean the same? If they mean the same, I'm wondering why the natives use two kinds of tenses for one meaning?
