Present perfect and present perfect continuous

Hallo

First time question.

I have played football for 10 years
I have been playing football for 10 years

Maybe it's a bit stupid, but I just can't understand the difference between the two.

Is there a simple explanation?

I though PPS was used for when something started in the past and was still true today. But isn't the PPC also true? What is simply the difference and when should I use them?.

Thanks for your time teachers.
