Grammar

Present perfect and present perfect continous uses in two different contexts

Hi. Please help me with these.

1. Hypothetical situation 1: Two people talking about a movie clip from a home-made movie made by one of them, after watching it. The tenses should be from present tense perspective. (I am not sure I wrote correctly to reflect what I wanted to ask, though.)

How long has he been talking about the man before he decides to ask him point-blank?

When he has done what he said he would do, what do you think he would do? - I think this is more of an anticipatory question (if the word "anticipatory" is the right word to use here - not sure, though).

2. Hypothetical situation 2: Two people are doing the cooking. Let us pretend the name of one of them is John Doe and he is boiling the water. So, as to who is doing what: one person is washing and slicing vegetables while the other person (that is, John Doe) is boiling the water. Let us also pretend boiling the water takes more time than washing and slicing the vegetables.

Put the prepared vegetables in the water that has been boiling. (Let us further pretend that the water has been left boiling)

How about this? Is this correct?

Put the prepared vegetables in the hot water John Doe has prepared.
