Present perfect and present perfect constinuous

Hi! Explain to me please how can I say this...

Do you still play tennis? No, I haven't played tennis for years.

But I think I must write such as "No, I haven't been playing tennis for year" is that right?

It's from book "English grammar in use"

I don't know how to explain, but in my opinion, the first one (present perfect) is correct.
