present perfect

Suppose, two friends meet after a long time(around three years). Is this conversation correct with 'present perfect? Thanks a lot. A little confused.

Jack: where are you, Alex?
Alex: I am in New York.
Jack: Where have you been?
Alex: I have been to Korea for two years.

If they are meeting, then the question "Where are you, Alex/" is a strange thing to ask

You mean the sentences in both conversations are correct except the errors you mentioned?

Jack: Hi, Alex, how are you?
Alex: I am well.
Jack: I haven't seen you for a long time. Where have you been?
Alex: I have been in New Jersey. (My preference is "in".)
Jack: How long have you been there?
Alex: Almost for a year. For almost a year. (You put "for" in the wrong place.)
