Present perfect

looking for some help with an English text, I am confusing when I have to use present perfect or simple past.  
"How are you both? I'm having a great time here in Europe. It's a cool place. I went to England and France and I stayed in Germany for a few nights last week. I'm in Spain right now. When I was in Berlim, I ate bratwurst, with is a really taste sausage. I visited some really interesting places, such as Trafalgar Square"
