Present perfect
Unless you include a past event the past simple isn't native.
eg.
Im not good at speaking in public, because I've never taken public speaking. <---correct.
I'm not good at speaking in public, because I never took public speaking. <---should be present perfect tense.
I'm not good at speaking in public, because I never took public speaking in college. <---- correct.
another example:
Im not a good speaker. I think it's because I've never taken public speaking. native.
I'm not a good speaker. I think it's because I never took public speaking. wrong.
I'm not a good speaker. I think it's because I never took public speaking in college. native.
Am i Wrong?
